Vastu For Bedrooms

In this blog article, we will review tips on bedroom locations, furniture placements, and sleeping positions as per Vastu Shastra guidelines. (Published - Aug. 29, 2021)

Vastu for Master Bedroom, New Couple's Bedroom - Vastu for Better Relationships, Happy Married Life

You may already know the answer for this. Vastu Shastra recommends placement of primary bedroom for the head of household or master bedroom in South West quadrant or South side of the house. If you have a master bedroom along the South wall in USA, the bathroom could end up in the South West corner, which is not ideal. Similarly, if the primary bedroom is along the West wall, the toilets or shower could end up in the South West corner.

Master bedroom can also be in the North West quadrant, which is more preferred for young couples or newly weds. There are other locations for bedroom placement based on overall layout of rooms and house direction. So, just because the primary bedroom is not in South West corner does not mean that the house is bad.  You should contact an expert Vastu consultant for further assistance if the floor plan of your home does not follow "the book" (or commonly recommended locations for rooms).

Vastu For Kids Bedrooms

Vastu for Children's Rooms

We have explained the importance of the relative position of rooms in a house in Vastu tip #7 .

When you are deciding on ideal bedrooms for your kid or children, you should consider their age and gender, relationship (marital) status before allocating  a room.  A bedroom that works for a boy may not be the best for a girl, in traditional gender sense. Similarly a tween could behave differently in a room than your child with spouse.  So, based on the residents and ages, we can allocate the appropriate room that will help them succeed in studies, career, and personal lives.  Not many Vastu experts discuss this aspect in their consultation or articles or books.

Vastu Sleeping Position Guidelines - Boost Positive Energy

This is a very common question that we get.  Most of the homes in USA come with a floor plan and electric wiring arrangements that support the placement of beds in certain directions. Unless you are building a house, you do not get to change the door location or switches or bed placement locations. You may end up placing the bed in a direction where the headboard of the bed will cover the wall switch behind it, if you follow the Vastu guidelines.

Which direction should we keep our head while sleeping, per Vastu ?

The ideal Vastu Shastra recommended position for human beings for sleeping is with the head against the South direction (or wall if using bed with headboard) and feet against the North wall.  Most people from the Indian sub-continent places their beds against wall or West wall, where they sleep facing the Sunrise or head against the morning Sun.  These positions are acceptable but the best health benefit comes from the sleeping with head against South wall.  Never sleep with headboard against the North wall in your house.

Of course, when you sleep in a hotel room, you may not be able to control the bed placement, but that is temporary and can be ignored.

Where should be the Guest Room as per Vastu?

Vastu Shastra recommends the guest bedroom in multiple locations based on the overall house layout.  As mentioned before, this is not written in stone for a house in USA. The overall layout of the house and Vastu Compliance evaluation decides what room gets priority allocation and preference.

Guest bedrooms can be in North West corner as first preference, if everything else in the house falls in right places. Else, it can take different positions or locations based on overall layout.  Guest bedrooms are not preferred in the South West corner with some exceptions included.

The discussion on bedroom placements in a home is very detailed to explain all possible combinations and your family requirements. So we advice you to check with an experienced Vastu Consultant in USA, when you have Vastu compliance questions about your house that you own or plan to buy.

Please email or call us for assistance with any Vastu related questions.

At VastuTruth, we are not in the business of up-selling products as remedies. After every consultation, you will get a customized report explaining what you need to do to achieve the deserving level of vastu compliance for your property, which you would implement on your own.   It costs you a tiny fraction of the cost of a building / property, to avail of our expert consultant services, to make the right choices in your most valuable investments of a lifetime.
